# Can participants upload Images to the Media Library?

|| Participants can upload images directly to the Media Library, but only if this option is enabled by the book owner or administrator.

### How it works
* When **enabled**, participants can upload images straight to the Media Library without attaching them to a story.
* When **disabled**, participants can only add images while writing stories or answering questions.

### How to enable or disable this option
1. Go to **Share Book** or **Image and Photo Settings**
2. Locate **Participants can upload images directly to the media library**
3. Toggle the setting **ON** or **OFF**
4. Click **Save**

### When to enable this setting
* You want to collect photos before stories are written
* Multiple participants are contributing images
* The book owner or editor will organize images later
### When to disable this setting
* You want every image to be added with written context
* You want to avoid unused or unorganized images in the Media Library
