Possible additional costs for the continuous storage of videos and audios
In this article, you will find out what costs you can expect if you include audio and video in your book.
While texts and photos are printed directly in a book, video and audio files must be stored on our servers so that they can be accessed via the QR code. The storage of your digital media is included for 2 years after the printing of each book. This means: The QR code is still functional for at least 2 years after you have sent your book to print.
If you want the video and audio files to remain available after a period of two years, you can book additional years when you purchase your book or take out an annual subscription so that you no longer have to think about it. The costs (as of May 2024) are as follows:
1 additional year: US$ 6.90 (US$ 0.56 / month)
2 additional years: US$ 12.90 (US$ 0.54 / month)
5 additional years: US$ 28.90 (US$ 0.48 / month)
15 additional years: US$ 79.90 (US$ 0.44 / month)
30 additional years: US$ 139.90 (US$ 0.39 / month)
The booking must be made while the data is still saved with us! As soon as the time expires, the data will be deactivated and deleted after a period of one year.
If a QR code is scanned that leads to expired data, every visitor can reactivate the data within one year of expiry by making a new payment. This is helpful if the author of the book is no longer alive: Surviving relatives can still gain access to valuable video or audio files.
Initially 3 months and then 10 days before the storage period expires, we will send you an e-mail to the e-mail address we have on file reminding you to extend the storage period if you wish to do so.

Please bear in mind, however, that despite all precautions and security measures, unforeseeable events such as natural disasters, armed conflicts, insolvencies of participating companies or other acts of God may occur that are beyond our control. In such cases, data loss or impairment of data integrity may occur, for which we cannot accept any liability.
