Use Meminto Stories with ChatGPT, Codex, or Claude
Before you connect
You need:
- a Meminto account;
- at least one book in that account; and
- permission to use the book you want to work on.
Only install the Meminto Stories plugin or connector from an official directory or use the MCP address published by Meminto:
https://app.meminto.com/mcp/v1/mcp.phpConnect from ChatGPT or Codex
When Meminto Stories is available in the public Plugins Directory:
- Open the plugin browser in ChatGPT or Codex.
- Find Meminto Stories and select Install.
- Select Connect when prompted.
- Sign in on
app.meminto.com, review the requested permissions, and approve
only the access you want to grant.
- Start a new chat and ask: “Show me my Meminto books.”
If Meminto is provided as a direct MCP connection during testing, add the MCP address above in the client's connector settings and choose OAuth.
OpenAI's current plugin instructions are available in the official OpenAI plugin guide.
Connect from Claude
When Meminto Stories is available in Claude's Connectors Directory, select it there and choose Connect. To add it as a custom connector:
- Open Settings → Connectors in Claude or Claude Desktop.
- Select Add custom connector.
- Name it Meminto Stories and enter the MCP address above.
- Select Connect, sign in on
app.meminto.com, review the requested
permissions, and approve the connection.
- In a chat, enable Meminto Stories under Search and tools.
See Anthropic's custom connector instructions for the current Claude interface.
Permissions
Meminto may ask for up to four levels of access:
Permission | What it allows |
|---|---|
Read | View the books, chapters, questions, answers, media, and progress available to your Meminto account. |
Suggest | Analyze a book and recommend questions or improvements without changing it. |
Preview | Prepare an answer change and show the difference without saving it. |
Write | Add or reorganize book content, save answers, manage media, and perform other changes you request. |
The connector can access only books that the signed-in Meminto user is allowed to access. Your role and the state of a book may prevent some actions.
Disconnect and revoke access
ChatGPT and Codex
- Open Meminto Stories from the supported plugin browser and select Uninstall plugin if you also want to remove the plugin bundle.
- Open the connected-services or MCP connection settings, find Meminto Stories, and select Disconnect.
Uninstalling a plugin and disconnecting its separately authorized MCP connection are distinct actions in OpenAI clients. Complete both when you want to remove the plugin and its connection.
Claude
- Open Settings → Connectors.
- Find Meminto Stories.
- Select Remove, or open the three-dot menu and follow the removal prompts.
Revoke every active Meminto connector token
Disconnecting is normally sufficient to stop that client from using Meminto. If you want Meminto to revoke every active MCP token issued to your account, submit a request at Meminto Helpdesk with the subject Revoke AI connector access. Do not send your password or an OAuth token in the ticket.
Disconnecting the connector does not delete your Meminto books or account.
Delete book or account data
- For a Mini Book, follow How to delete your Mini Book. Paid books require a support request.
- To delete the whole Meminto account, follow How to delete your Meminto account. Remove project contributors first, as described in that guide.
- For help with a different deletion request, contact support.
Deletion is permanent. Download any content you need before confirming it.
Troubleshooting
- No books appear: confirm that you connected the same Meminto account that owns or collaborates on the book.
- An action is not allowed: your book role may be read-only, or the book may be expired, finished, or already sent to print.
- The book changed while you were editing: somebody else edited the same content. Ask the assistant to read it again before retrying.
- The connection stopped working: disconnect Meminto Stories, reconnect it, and complete the Meminto authorization screen again.
- A write action looks wrong: do not approve it. Save the conversation and tool details, excluding private book text you do not want to share, and contact support.
Report a security vulnerability
Submit a ticket at Meminto Helpdesk with the subject Security vulnerability — Meminto AI connector. Include:
- the affected client and connector version, if shown;
- the date and time, including your time zone;
- clear reproduction steps and the expected behavior;
- the potential impact; and
- screenshots or request identifiers with passwords, OAuth tokens, personal book content, and other secrets removed.
Do not test against another person's account or book, and do not include live credentials in the report. For urgent suspected account compromise, disconnect the connector first and state that the report is urgent.
Privacy
Meminto's data handling, AI service providers, retention practices, and user rights are described in the Meminto Privacy Policy. For privacy or data-protection questions, use the contact details published in that policy.
