Converting voice recordings to text (transcription)

Meminto also lets you use your voice to narrate your entire book or just parts of it. Just upload your audio recordings and our AI will turn them into perfect written text, with all the punctuation and paragraphing you would expect. Find out how it works here.

In the Browser

If you're using Meminto in your browser, you can add text, images, and audio recordings to each chapter. To record something, just click the microphone button at the bottom of the editor (or you can click the round plus and then on "Audio"):

Then you can decide whether you want to upload a recording you already have on your device (just choose "My device") or make a new recording directly on your device (just choose "Audio").

Make sure you have a microphone on your device and that you've given your web browser permission to record.

If you've clicked on the microphone icon, you can start your audio recording by clicking the red record button:

The button now turns into a stop button, and the recording starts. You'll see the current recording time displayed. Just start talking—no need to worry about filler words. Speak naturally.

The more structured you tell your story, the easier it will be to adjust and refine later on!

When you're done recording, play it back and then upload it. It should look something like this:

You can now turn your recording into proper text by clicking on "Convert to text".

We use AI to process and transcribe your recording, which requires a certain amount of credits.

Once you've confirmed usage of the necessary credits, just wait a little. You should see your text and be able to edit it further in no time!

In the Meminto app

Audio transcription via our AI is not yet available in the mobile app, but we are working on implementation!
