What are the next steps once I’ve gifted a Meminto book?

Here you’ll find the next steps based on the options you chose when gifting Meminto.

Order with an e-card sent on a specific date

If you buy a Meminto Stories book for someone else and schedule the e-card for a set date, the recipient will receive an email with your selected e-card and the activation code that day. With this code, they can create or access their Meminto account and start their Memory book project by answering guided questions. As the gift giver, you don’t need to forward anything manually; the system handles the scheduled delivery.

Next steps:

  • You’ll receive an order confirmation email with important details.
  • The recipient waits for the e-card on the scheduled date.
  • When they receive it, they register and start creating their book online.

Order with a printable, foldable gift card

If you ordered the Meminto book with a printable gift card, you’ll get a download link for the selected card. The PDF may include several designs so you can pick the best one for your purpose. Print the card at home and fold it to present as a physical gift. Instructions explain how to fold it. Simply write the activation code on the card. The recipient uses this code to create their Meminto account or log in and start their book project. You’ll find the activation code in the order confirmation and receipt email. Check your spam or junk folder if you don’t see it. Contact support if the email hasn’t arrived after 60 minutes.

Next steps:

  • Print the card, write the activation code on it, and hand it over personally.
  • The recipient redeems the code at memin.to/register to start their book.
  • They’ll receive weekly emails with questions that help build their book if this was set in the short interview process. If they have the Meminto app, questions can also be sent via push notifications to their smartphone and answered directly there.

Order with a physical gift box

Due to customs changes by President Trump, gift boxes can no longer be shipped to the USA. If you live outside the USA, please use our alternative checkout to order gift boxes: https://meminto.com/product/lifebook-express/

If you ordered a gift box along with the book, Meminto will ship a physical package to the address you provided. Inside, along with extras (usually a card set with our questions, a pen with a flower seed in the end piece, and other small gifts like a bookmark), you’ll find an activation code. The recipient uses this code to activate their Meminto account and access the questions for their book.

Next steps:

  • The gift box will be shipped physically (usually within 1-3 days).
  • Track the shipping status using the order confirmation.
  • The recipient opens the box and follows the instructions to start their book online.

What the recipient receives in any case

  • An activation code with a redemption link that unlocks Meminto platform access.
  • Personalized storytelling questions, sent weekly via email if chosen.
  • Digital tools to write, record voice, or use other media to capture their story.
  • A printed hardcover book created based on their content.

Account creation and participant settings

  • The recipient should create their own Meminto account using the activation code.
  • Do not create an account for the recipient if you are not the primary user, to avoid confusion. The activation code can only be used once. If you must create it because the recipient can’t, do so either directly with their email address or initially with your own, then change it later to the recipient’s email in the account so the question emails are sent correctly.
  • Each account is personal and linked to the email used during registration.
  • The gift giver receives email notifications after a question is answered if invited as a book participant and set for notifications by the recipient in the book’s settings. Each participant can later adjust this setting to receive emails, for example, as a weekly summary instead of after every answered question.
